Sarah Bush Lincoln selected Cerner, a global leader in healthcare technology, to implement an integrated electronic health records (EHR) system in the hospital and multiple clinical facilities across the region.
Sarah Bush Lincoln will replace Meditech, its previous system, with Cerner Millennium® and its full suite of healthcare clinical and end-to-end revenue cycle management solutions across the organization’s hospital, 30 clinics, new Regional Cancer Center and state-of-the-art Center for Healthy Living. The go-live date is expected in the fall.
“Sarah Bush Lincoln is a rapidly growing health system and Cerner aligns with our vision to provide innovative, preventive and quality care to each of our patients,” Maggie Ratliff, Sarah Bush Lincoln Vice President Information Systems said. “Our mission is to meet the needs of our community by lowering costs, increasing efficiency and managing the population one person at a time. We believe Cerner’s solutions will help us achieve these goals.”
As part of the new agreement, Sarah Bush Lincoln will leverage Cerner’s HealtheIntent™ population health management platform, a system that can analyze patient data from multiple sources and identify health trends, regardless of EHR supplier.
“Cerner’s HealtheIntent platform will help enable physicians and mid-level providers to use meaningful data to predict what will happen within the community, so they can manage toward improving the care of their population,” Zane Burke, president, Cerner, said. “Enabling medical staff and patients to engage in their health and care delivery will enable Sarah Bush Lincoln to propel itself toward its goal of driving better outcomes and providing an even deeper level of continuity of care.”
Population health management is the healthcare industry’s movement to proactively identify and predict health risk for individuals, engage those patients beyond the hospital setting and manage outcomes to improve overall health of the community.
