SBL Golf Benefit Nets Nearly $50,000 for Regional Cancer Center

Sarah Bush Lincoln’s annual Golf Benefit held June 12, at Meadowview Golf Course, raised nearly $50,000.

Net proceeds from this year’s golf benefit will help fund the Building Hope campaign, a fundraising campaign to raise $3.5 million toward the construction of a new free-standing $15.8 Regional Cancer Center.

Neal Tire & Auto Center’s team won the morning competition for lowest gross score. Team members included Terry Carlon, Scott Carlon, John Floyd and Tracy Pickens. Dr. Donald Sandercock’s team won the afternoon lowest gross score and included team members Dr. Sandercock, Kris Heller, David Sandercock and Ross Sandercock. A $200 cash prize was awarded to each team.

The raffle package, a seven-night condo in Memphis, TN, was won by Kevin Richardson; while the consolation raffle of two Six Flags all-day passes and an SBL cooler bag, donated by Six Flags and SBL Health Foundation, was won by David Sandercock.

Prizes were offered on all 18 holes however, because there were no winners on the hole-in-one challenges, only 15 prizes were awarded. Donated hole-in-one prizes included:

• $10,000, sponsored by First Neighbor Bank

• RTV Kubota, sponsored by Niemeyer Kubota

• A two-year lease on a Cadillac, sponsored by Diepholz Chevy Buick GMC & Cadillac

Prizes awarded on the remaining 15 holes were:

• $500 cash, sponsored by KC Summers Buick Toyota GMC Hyundai Scion; winner, Star Hill;

• A seven-night vacation package, donated by Pilson Auto Centers; winner, Barb Ippolito;

• Four tickets to a Cardinals vs Braves game with parking pass, donated by Coca-Cola; winner, Travis Deem;

• Two NASCAR tickets at the finish line and two pit passes, donated by Gordon Food Service; winner, Larry Tish;

• A golf package including four rounds of golf with carts at three area courses - Meadowview, Lakeshore and Timberlake - plus four Frogger towels, donated by Jeff & Debbie Boldig and SBL Health Foundation; winner, Lauren Spain;

• Two Chicago Bulls first-row club seats with premium lot parking pass and an Odyssey Putter, donated by Sentinel Technologies, Inc. and Meadowview Golf Course; winner, Brian Milam;

• Kirkwood Stay-n-Play package for two plus Pinnacle golf balls, donated by Kirkwood National Golf Club & Cottages and Meadowview Golf Course; winner, Tim St. John;

• An iWatch donated by County Office Products; winner, Derek Rohlfing;

• A Chill & Tap Keg Cooler donated by Dr. Lori and Bob Cudone; winner, Dan Rogers;

• Four Cardinals vs Cubs tickets donated by CK Power; winner, Clyde Frankie;

• Four Cardinals vs Reds tickets donated by First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust; winner, Jeff Thomas;

• Six Cubs vs Diamondbacks tickets and a gift basket donated by Healthware Systems and SBL Gift Shop; winner, Calvin Schultz;

• A 32 inch Television donated by Walden’s TV & Appliance; winner, Ryan Whitlock;

• An Odyssey Putter & Bling golf balls, Brighton Necklace, two 30-minute massages and a $100 Effingham Performance Center gift card donated by Meadowview Golf Course, Picket Fence, SBL Massage Therapy and Effingham Performance Center; winner, Jeremy Morton;

• Four rounds of golf at Mattoon Golf & Country Club, plus cart, range balls, $50 gift card for food and Titleist golf balls, donated by Mattoon Golf & Country Club; winner, Kevin Miller; The remaining golfers were then entered into a drawing for the following prizes:
