Sarah Bush Lincoln is please to announce the addition of Urologist David DiDomenico, MD, DO, FACS, to its medical staff. With vast experience helping people overcome their urologic problems, he is excited to return to Sarah Bush Lincoln where he began his urology practice in 1997.
“The patient always comes first,” Dr. DiDomenico said, striving to follow that philosophy in his practice everyday. “My job is to listen to my patients in order to understand their symptoms and concerns before presenting all treatment options.” He returns to the community from Freeport, Ill., where he provided care for the past four years. With fond memories of his 13 years in practice at Sarah Bush Lincoln, “I’m happy to be back,” he said.
Dr. DiDomenico holds a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies and a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed a two-year residency in general surgery and a four-year residency in urology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and its affiliated hospitals.
Dedicated to providing the highest-quality medical care, Dr. DiDomenico offers both men and women a wide range of urological services including treatment for urinary disorders, kidney stones, urological cancers, incontinence and fertility issues, to name a few.
Dr. DiDomenico was attracted to urology because of the opportunity to help people overcome urologic problems through both medical and surgical approaches. In general, urologists have a great deal to offer people to improve the quality and function of their lives, he said. “The practice of urology continues to evolve and we are starting to do more minimally invasive procedures with more favorable results,” he said. “It’s an exciting time and I love what I do.”
With a special interest in minimally invasive procedures, new treatment options are available to treat most if not all urologic conditions. He looks forward to partnering with people to develop individualized treatment plans that include both medical and surgical approaches to a wide range of urological problems.
With the growing demand for urologic services, Dr. DiDomenico said he especially enjoys fulfilling a need in rural communities. “The people are so appreciative and it’s very rewarding,” he said. He is happy to join nurse practitioner Jodi Morrisey, APN, and offer area residents continued urologic care upon the retirement of long-time urologist Roger Rives, MD. He looks forward to expanding his practice and offering evening hours in the future.
Dr. DiDomenico and his wife, Amrit Mangat, MD, who specializes in breast surgery for the DuPage Medical Group, have two daughters, Gabriella, 12, and Francesca, 10.
