Long-time Newton Internal Medicine Physician George Saliba, MD, is making a career change to be with his family in Indianapolis. Sarah Bush Lincoln has agreed to purchase his Newton medical practice effective January 4, 2015.
“It was a difficult decision to sell my medical practice in Newton because the community and my patients have welcomed us with open arms,” Dr. Saliba said. “We will miss everyone.” He will be joining his family in Indianapolis, where they are obtaining services for their children.
The new Sarah Bush Lincoln Newton Clinic will be staffed with two local clinicians. Michelle Fulton, APN, FNP-BC, who grew up in Newton and whose family still lives in the community, will be in the office on Jan. 5 caring for people.
Michele Woodard, APN, FNP-BC, will join the clinic, first on a part-time basis, and shortly thereafter, on a full-time basis. She also lives in Jasper County with her family. Both clinicians have worked for Sarah Bush Lincoln for many years.
The Newton Clinic welcomes patients of all ages including infants and children. The vast majority of the staff members will stay with the practice. The phone number will remain the same as well. If patients wish to continue treatment at the Newton Clinic, they do not need to do anything. If they wish to transfer their care to a different medical provider, they should call the Newton Clinic at 618-783-3800 to transfer their medical record. The staff will be happy to assist them.
Sarah Bush Lincoln and Dr. Saliba have had a business relationship for several years as it provided diagnostic services at his clinic.
